What precautions should be taken after replacing a poly-V belt?
Precautions after replacement
Inspection and Testing
After starting the engine, observe whether there are any unusual noises or vibrations, and confirm that the belt is running smoothly.
Check whether the contact between the belt and the pulley groove is uniform, with no signs of uneven wear or slippage.
Maintenance recommendations
During each maintenance, check the belt tension (it’s best if the middle part sinks 10–15 mm when pressed) and the condition of surface wear.
If the water temperature is abnormal, the air conditioning fails, or you detect a burning rubber smell, stop immediately and inspect the vehicle.
Replacement cycle
It is recommended to replace the part every 60,000 to 80,000 kilometers or every 6 years; the specific replacement interval should be adjusted based on actual wear conditions.
