Does a poly-V belt need to be run-in after replacement?
After replacing the multi-rib belt on your car, there’s no need for deliberate break-in, but you should pay attention to the following points:
Material Properties: Modern poly-V belts are made from EPDM rubber, which has a higher hardness. Once installed, they can be used immediately without the need for gradual adaptation, as is required with traditional components.
Inspection and Maintenance:
After replacement, check the alignment of the wheel system to prevent premature wear caused by improper installation.
It is recommended to check for wear every 30,000 kilometers. The part should be replaced at 150,000 kilometers or if cracks or unusual noises appear.
Exception Handling: If slipping or unusual noises occur after replacement, immediately check whether they are caused by issues with the wheel system or installation errors.
